WhisprChat is built with privacy by design. The app is fully peer-to-peer and does not rely on servers, accounts, or cloud services. This Privacy Policy explains how WhisprChat handles your data.

Information We Collect

WhisprChat does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to us or to third parties.

Messages: All messages are stored only on your device. They are not sent to any server.
Contacts: Contact details are exchanged directly between users via QR codes. This data remains local to your device.
Handles: Only the user handle you choose is shared with contacts or nearby devices. No phone numbers, emails, or personal identifiers are required.

How Data Is Used

Messages are encrypted end-to-end and delivered directly between devices using Bluetooth and WiFi Direct.
Contacts are managed and stored locally on your device.
The app uses system APIs for background discovery and communication but does not track or profile users.

Third-Party Services

WhisprChat does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

Data Sharing

We do not share, sell, or transmit your data to anyone. All communications are peer-to-peer and remain under your control.

Security

Private messages are encrypted with P256 key agreement and AES-GCM encryption.
Public broadcast messages are unencrypted by design and visible to nearby devices.
All encryption and key management use Apple’s CryptoKit framework.

Children’s Privacy

WhisprChat is suitable for users aged 12 and older. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

Your Control

You control what handle you use.
You control who you exchange QR codes with.
You can delete your contacts and chat history at any time.
